FOSS Nepal Community

FOSS ( Free/Open Source Software) or FLOSS (Free/Liber Open Source Software) is a software released under a license that is kind of an Intellectual Property lawyer’s version of the Golden Rule, making it available to anyone to use, modify, and distribute as they wish and improve its design through the availability of its source code at no cost, provided they agree in turn to make it available to others to use, modify, and distribute as they wish at no cost.
In the context of free and open-source software, free refers to the freedom to copy and re-use the software, rather than to the price of the software.

FOSS Nepal Community is a team of volunteers who believe in the usage of Free/Open Source Software. The primary objective of the community is to promote and diversify the usage of Free/Open Source Software in Nepal.
The main objective of the Community is to raise awareness among general public, government bodies, private sector, civil society, educational institutions and media for expanding the scope of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) via Free and Open Source Software. This community has been sensitizing general public, government bodies, civil society and media for the implementation of e-governance by means of FOSS; the optimal solution for e-governance.
